Breakfast & portfolio-love

So we've got to start our 2nd year final projects. It's self-directed and you write your own brief. I've gone for food & illustration. I'm not entirely sure where I'm going to head with it. Something to do with food and its consumers. To kick it off, I drew my breakfast this morning. I was considering doing this every day to build up a series, but I think it would be pretty dull ad repetetive. But maybe that would be the point. Hmm.


In other news, I was very excited when this package arrived this morning:

My beautiful new A3 red leather portfolio/display book! It's gorgeous. But I'm going to be so protective over it, making sure it doesn't get scratched. Maybe the odd scratch will just give it character. Yes.

The apostrophe's what?

Remember those apostrophes posters I did a while back? Well I'm making adjustments before I submit them to ISTD for assessment.

It's quite nice going back to them, as you see them with fresh eyes. But I've tried so many variations of layouts now that I think I'm on the verge of insanity. I think I'm just about happy with the main three, it's just that awkward fourth one giving me grief.

Time for a cup of coffee, I reckon. I'll get back to it in the morning when my mind is less numb...

In other news...

In other news, I have Evie Milo of Milomade to thank for putting me forward as one of this month's featured sellers on Folksy! Pretty flattered!

Other positive things this week = the possibility of a bit of summer work experience, and perhaps a few of my images appearing in a book some time soon. Exciting stuff.

Other not so positive things = my USB stick dying on me the weekend before last. Work was lost, tears were shed, tea was drunk, and calm was resumed. Lessons were learnt, and work will be relentlessly backed-up in future.
